Yes, there are now eight wheels in our driveway.

Jack’s been practicing and the time was right to get him some wheels. But this time he was restricted to something with FOUR wheels and DOORS, and AIRBAGS!! lol

I’ll post a photo soon, but if you see a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora in the Dallas area… take my advice and get out of the way! lol

Small Victories

In any goal, it’s important to celebrate the small milestones along the way. It encourages you to keep going, and helps you build momentum to reach the peak, your final destination.

Well at least that’s what I’m told! So I’m celebrating my first milestone, my first small victory. Yes, it’s small… pretty small actually… but gosh darnit, I did it! I went ten full minutes on the elliptical machine without stopping once!

Ok, stop laughing now. Seriously, I couldn’t do even five minutes without having to stop. Partially because I was so out of breath, but mainly because my legs were turning to jello! If you’ve never done an elliptical machine, YOU do it for five minutes and tell me how YOU feel! lol Treadmills, bicycles, NOTHING compares to the elliptical!

So anyway, the timer stops when I stop, so I’ve been doing a total of ten minutes this whole time, it just had a lot of stops and starts during that ten minutes. :o)

Well, no more! Today I put on my workout clothes, stuck in my Justin Timberlake CD, got up on that monster machine and I pumped my heart out for ten solid minutes without stopping one time! Yes, ten full minutes of my own FutureSex/LoveSounds (ok, so it sounded a lot more like huffing and puffing than love sounds!).

I’m celebrating the first step in my journey! Today – ten minutes on the elliptical. Tomorrow – Victoria’s Secret baby! Ok, maybe not that drastic, but I’m gonna do it people, I really am!

:o)

P.S. My first major goal… lose 50 lbs by the end of August. That’s about six months away. A little less than 2 pounds a week. I can do it! I CAN do it! I CAN DO IT!!! (cue the “Rocky” music!)

A New Me!

Added this not so little baby to our household last week. (I stole the pic from Jack’s blog! Shhh, don’t tell!)

I’m proud to say that I’ve used it every day since it arrived… except today, but that’s because I’ve had a horrible headache and any type of movement makes my nauseas. But tomorrow I’ll be back on it, I promise. Hey, four days in a row is good, right? :o)

Here’s to a new me… LESS of me (lol)… in 2007!

P.S. Heather and I make a bet about who could lose 20 lbs first. Loser has to pay for pedicures. Now THAT’S motivation!!

So what would you do if you took your husband to the hospital to see the plastic surgeon, you push the “up” button, wait for the elevator, the doors open, and you see this face…

Yep, that’s none other than Troy Aikman. Former Dallas Cowboy, Super Bowl MVP, NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman.

Maybe you’d do what I did… stare and say nothing. I am so lame.

By the way, Jack got the stitches out and things are looking good.
I am so lame.

I know it’s been like forever since I posted last. And really, I have no good excuse! Nothing exciting has been going on, so there really hasn’t been anything to talk about.

Jack is scheduled to go back to the doctor in two weeks to get part of his stitches out. The center, the main part, will remain in until the incision is completely closed. Good news, the incision/surgery seems to have relieved a lot of the fluid in Jack’s foot. It’s not near as swollen as before. I personally think that his lymphatic system was overwhelmed with all of the swelling and wasn’t able to process it all. Hopefuly this has given it a jump start and it will be able to keep up from here on out.

We’re tearing up the middle bedroom… making room for some exercise equipment. That will help Jack as well with his mobility, etc. DID YOU KNOW… that (at least in the state of Texas) if you have a doctor’s prescription for exercise equipment, then you don’t have to pay taxes on it? All you need is a script saying what equipment you need (treadmill, home gym, elliptical trainer, etc.) and why you need it (weight loss, stress relief, heart condition, etc.). Take it when you purchase your equipment and voila, no taxes!

Well, that’s all for now… hopefully something exciting will happen and I’ll be able to post again soon! lol
