Well, they are done! Finally! I wasn’t able to do the felting after my last post due to a relapse in sickness… thanks to some even better drugs, I was feeling a million times better on Monday! So I felted the small pink purse, and then later in the week I finished the blue tote and felted that last night.
After some protesting from my husband (hi honey!), I did the felting in our front loading washing machine. To create agitation, I added a pair of tennis shoes that needed a good washing anyway!
The pink purse turned out pretty good… I think the handles are too long, and it’s taller than the example, but I think it’s ok. I used plastic bags in it to shape it after felting.
The blue tote is not the way I wanted it, but oh well. I should have made the sides taller, but again, oh well. In one of the pictures, you can see that I have a cereal box inside of a plastic bag inside of the tote. I wanted it to keep the boxy shape, and the cereal box was the perfect size for shaping. It’s not exactly like the sample I was following, but that’s ok. :o)
So… let’s see, what’s next? Well, I think I want to do two more of the pink purses and give one to each of my nieces for Easter (don’t you think it’s perfect for Easter?!?!). I’m not sure what else I want to do next… maybe one of these (click here). :o) Or maybe not! lol
